Galaxy Macau opened on May 15, 2011 at an investment of almost HK$14.9 billion and is considered as the only true authentic five-star Asian hotel resort destination in Macau. Galaxy Macau is said to be the most recent enormous casino resort to rise out of the Cotai strip. The developer of Galaxy Macau is Galaxy Entertainment Group and it was designed by renowned LA-based architect Gary Goddard. Galaxy Macau offers more than 2,200 rooms, suites and villas across three world-class hotels such as Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, Okura Hotels and Resort and the five-star Galaxy Hotel. The Banyan Tree Macau is known for its personal pool, a pool in every hotel room that is big enough for three people with a temperature control and it only takes three hours to fill.

Looking at the bigger picture, the palace-inspired building offers thousands of visitors an inviting ambiance as Galaxy Macau is designed and built exactly like an Asian Palace with full of gold colour scheme and Chinese-inspired designs. Aside from a palace-inspired exterior and interior design of Galaxy Macau it also caters high-standard and world-class facilities that include a more than 50 food and beverage outlets; vast selection of pan-Asian cuisine in Macau; a very distinctive retail shopping; 52,000 square meters lush oasis gardens; and the world’s largest rooftop wave pool covering 4,000 square meters and featuring a 350-ton white sand beach — known as the Sky Wave Pool.

Galaxy Macau is also known for what they call the “Fortune Diamond”. The Fortune Diamond is a gigantic three-meter gem that rises from behind a waterfall under a chandelier and it is located at the very center of the hotel’s lobby. Every 30 minutes, the mammoth gem rises from behind a waterfall with music and lights that shine a rainbow of colors. It was created by Jeremy Railton and the Fortune Diamond symbolises that Galaxy Macau strives for wealth, luck and love.

Another creation of Jeremy Railton is the hotel’s “Wishing Crystals”. Everyone will notice the enchanting beauty of the Wishing Crystals located at the second lobby of Galaxy Macau. Similar with the Fortune Diamond, Wishing Crystals are numerous gems that rise from the ground to with a pulse of light and music.

Most travellers also visit Galaxy Macau to witness the largest laser-shows in the world — the Galaxy Laserama. It engages state-of-the-art beams synchronized with music. There are eight laser-shows every night and dirrerent display everytime.
